ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to determine the impact of participatory theatre for development in promoting peace between farmers and herders in Nigeria. The researcher carried this study with the application of quasi experiment that had 470 participants. Participants in the treatment group were took part in a 30-minute drama that was aimed at increasing their peace seeking propensity. The instrument of data collection was a structured questionnaire while analysis was done with the use of simple percentages, mean and standard deviation while the independent t-test was used to test the hypothesis for the study. The result of the study showed that respondents in the treatment group reported a significant improvement in their peace seeking propensity while than counterparts in the group. This makes the researcher to conclude that participatory theatre for development is an effective tool for promoting peace between farmers and herders in Nigeria.
